History of FIAT
Originally started as the Check Investigators Association of Texas in 1965, the name was changed to Forgery Investigators Association of Texas in March 1971.
In keeping with the changing times and technology the association voted to change the name again in September 2002 at the annual conference. Since that time we are known as the Fraud Investigators Association of Texas. The new name incorporates the expansion of fraud crimes that are occurring throughout the world.
Each year, the board elects a new member and retires the president. Listed here with our thanks and gratitude for their time and input to the association are the Past Presidents:
